This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the terms under which bookings made on bookmyhomestay.com (“Platform”, “we”, “our”, “us”) may be cancelled and refunded. By making a booking through our platform, you agree to this policy.


1. Role of Bookmyhomestay.com

Bookmyhomestay.com operates as an online marketplace and intermediary connecting guests with independent homestay hosts, hotels, and experience providers (“Hosts”).
Refunds and cancellations are governed by:

  • The Host’s cancellation policy

  • This Platform policy

  • Applicable Indian laws and payment gateway rules


2. Cancellation by Guest

Cancellation terms depend on the specific cancellation policy selected by the Host at the time of booking. These will be clearly displayed before you confirm payment.

Common cancellation types include:

a) Free Cancellation

  • Full refund if cancelled within the free cancellation period set by Host

  • No refund if cancelled after the deadline set by Host

b) Partial Refund

  • A percentage of the booking amount is refunded as per the refund rule set by host

  • Balance is retained as per Host policy

c) Non-Refundable Booking

  • No refund will be issued if cancelled

  • Lower pricing is usually offered for such bookings

⚠️ Service fees or convenience fees charged by the Platform may be non-refundable, unless stated otherwise.


3. Cancellation by Host

If a Host cancels a confirmed booking:

  • Guests are eligible for a full refund

  • Refund includes booking amount and platform service fee

  • Refund is processed to the original payment method

Bookmyhomestay.com may also assist guests with alternative accommodations, subject to availability.


4. No-Show Policy

If the guest:

  • Does not arrive on the check-in date

  • Fails to inform the Host or Platform

The booking will be treated as a No-Show, and:

  • No refund will be issued

  • Entire booking amount may be forfeited


5. Early Check-Out

If a guest checks out earlier than the booked duration:

  • Refunds (if any) are subject to the Host’s policy

  • Platform service fees are non-refundable


6. Refund Processing Timeline

  • Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days

  • Actual credit time depends on the bank or payment provider

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method only


7. Payment Gateway Charges

Please note:

  • Payment gateway or bank charges (if applicable) may be deducted

  • Bookmyhomestay.com is not responsible for delays caused by banks or gateways


8. Force Majeure / Exceptional Circumstances

Refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis for events beyond reasonable control, such as:

  • Natural disasters

  • Government travel restrictions

  • Pandemics

  • Civil unrest or strikes

Supporting documentation may be required.


9. Disputes & Chargebacks

Guests are encouraged to contact support@bookmyhomestay.com before raising a chargeback.
Unresolved disputes may result in:

  • Temporary account suspension

  • Investigation under payment gateway rules


10. Modifications to Policy

Bookmyhomestay.com reserves the right to update this policy at any time.
Changes will be effective once published on the Platform.
